Part II provides general ethnographic and linguistic background information on Siwu, the language from which most of the primary data in this thesis is drawn. Siwu is a pervasively ideophonic language spoken in the linguistic region where ideophone systems were first described. The sketch grammar included in this part is one of the first publicly available sources on the morphosyntax of Siwu.
